Daily Bhagavad Gita Message

Gita 18-56

sarvakarmāṇyapi sadā kurvāṇo madvyapāśrayaḥ
matprasādādavāpnoti śāśvataṁ padamavyayam

Continually performing all actions, taking refuge in Me,  by My grace,  My devotee attains the Eternal imperishable State.

About a Jñānayogī the Lord declared, that having renounced all sense-objects, controlling his senses, ever being engaged in meditation and having abandoned egoism, sense of mineness, desire, anger etc., becomes qualified to attain Brahma (18/51—53). But here the Lord declares for a devotee, even while performing all prescribed actions, by His grace attains the Eternal Imperishable state; because he has taken refuge in Me. It means that a devotee himself does not have work for his own welfare. The reason is that the devotee does not depend even the least bit on his power, intelligence and ability etc. he takes sole refuge in God only. Then grace of God alone lifts him up for his ultimate good.
