Srimad Bhagavad Gita

Eighteenth Chapter

                                                   18-8

duḥkhamityeva yatkarma kāyakleśabhayāttyajet
sa kṛtvā rājasa`ṁ tyāgaṁ naiva tyāgaphalaṁ labhet

He, who forsakes his duty because it is painful or from fear of bodily discomfort (physical suffering), he does not gain the reward of relinquishment by practicing such Rajasika abandonment.

Comment:

Renunciation of desire for fruit results in 'Supreme Peace'-- 'tyāgācchāntir anantaram' (Gītā 12/12) and the result of attachment is suffering-- 'rajasastu phalaṁ duḥkha' (Gītā 14/16). A Rajisika person does not attain peace as a fruit of renunciation; but certainly suffers pain, the fruit of attachment.
Rajasika person does not attain the fruit as peace as a result of abandoning of action because his abandonment is for his pleasure and comfort only. This kind of abandonment, even the animals-birds etc. also do.  Rajasika person definitely has to suffer punishment, due to giving up virtuous actions for the sake of his pleasure and comfort.
