Fifteenth Chapter

||   15 / 20   ||

iti guhyatamaṁ śāstramidamuktaṁ mayānagha

etadbuddhvā buddhimānsyātkṛtakṛtyaśca bhārata

Thus, O sinless Arjuna, this most secret Sastra (scripture) has been declared by Me;  by understanding it in essence, a man becomes enlightened and the accomplishes the mission of his life.

The Lord in this chapter has revealed Himself in the form of Supreme Person i.e., in His divine entire form ( Alokika Samagra Roopa), therefore this chapter has been called the most secret Śāstra (scripture).

In the preceding verse, it is specially said that the devotee worships God with all his heart i.e., serving with unswerving devotion. In devotion, a devotee of God acquires what must be acquired. Therefore, in the previous verse, perhaps that is what was meant. In this verse, with the expression 'buddhimānsyātkṛtakṛtyaśca', the sentiments of 'jnat-jnatavya' (he knows what needs to be known) and 'kṛitakṛitya' (he has done what needs to be done) are said here.

Laukik Ksara (perishable) and Aksara (imperishable) are attained; therefore Alaukik God is to be attained. In this verse, it appears that the devotee attains the fruit of both Jnanayoga and Karmayoga or in other words he also becomes 'jnat-jnatavya' and 'kṛitakṛitya' (Gītā 7/29-30 & 10/10-11).

Thus with Om, Tat, Sat, the names of the Lord, in the Upaniṣad of the
Bhagavadgītā, the knowledge of Brahma, the Supreme, the science of Yoga and the dialogue between Sri Kṛiṣhṇa and Arjuna, this the fifteenth discourse is designated:—

 "The Yoga of the Supreme Person".
