Question: How to attain God-Realization?
Swamiji: When there is a deep longing for God Realization, then everything else will drop off. Without having an intense longing for God Realization, nothing can happen. You have everything at your disposal - this human body has been received, you have received Gita and Ramayan, you have received good satsang, you have visited Gangaji, what more can there be?
Have only one desire, let there be only one (God) that you trust, only one dependency (God), only one longing (God). Just like the chattak bird, that drinks water only directly from the rain showers. Even though it is dying of thirst, and is at the banks of Gangaji, yet the chaatak bird will only wait for the rains. Let our exclusivity and intense longing for that One be like the chaatak bird.
Human life is successful, only on realizing God. We must realize God. "Tere bhaave jo karo bhalo buro sansaar," Do not worry about what others are doing, what they are thinking of us etc. Simply engage in only one thing (God), and everything else will follow suit. Everything else will become super simple, super easy. If there is one intense longing, all else will fall off.
No one is too young or too old to get started. But they all must have only one desire. Friends, such an opportunity will not be available in the future. If you do not have such intensity or deep longing for God, then it will only be self-betrayal. Simply speaking - we must realize God, no matter what others want, whether others want God or not.
And frankly, what other work do you really have?

Question: Gita 4:9 says - Those who know the reality (True Essence) are not reborn after death, they attain only God. (Gita 4:9). Is there any proof that such people attain only God?
Swamiji: Gita clearly states - Yes, Completely rid of passion, fear and anger, wholly absorbed only in God, depending on God alone, purified by knowledge of divinity of God's activities, many have become one with God. (Gita 4:10)

Question: If you say God Realization is so easy, then what are the obstacles that are preventing us from realizing God?
Swamiji: There are many obstacles, such as:
1) Attraction to enjoyment and gratification from worldly pleasures and attachment to accumulation of material goods
2) Lack of intense longing and desire for inquiry into God Realization.
3) Being satisfied with our present state
4) Believing God Realization to be similar to acquiring of any other objects. Because of this belief, immense importance is given to kriya (doing actions) and less importance is given to our discriminative powers and our inner disposition - our natural state
5) Great Souls and Mahatmas who understand the essence (tattva) well, are rare to find and meet
6) Just with a little bit of knowledge and some practice, we become proud
7) Other self imposed limitations are - not found the right guide, I am not qualified, I am not deserving, times are such, my fate is such, I have to do something to realize God.
Such (samskaars) impressions and ideas are obstacles that prevent us from realizing God.
Regarding obstacles, it is the subtlest things that can be like a giant roadblock:
Radha Rohan Lal (modern Sufi Saint), said to his disciple Mrs Tweedie "There is always something", making the point of how clear of desires, and attachments, one may consider oneself , there is always something. It was not until she had spent months in retreat, in the foothills of the Himalayas in solitude, and contemplation, all those somethings melted like the snow in the summer sun. Whereupon she found nothingness.

In reply to what is asked it occurs to me.
Bhagawan Ramana Maharshi of Thiruvannamalai says, find out as to who is the one asking this question. Who is the one wanting to get to God? Who is he? He has to ask the question himself and get the answer from within!
When you say that 'You want to get to know God', you are keeping your identity unknown to yourself and others and wanting to know God, as though He is another one of those things, or whatever! First answer the question as to who you are or rather ask yourself the question as to 'Who am I?'
If everything in this world are God's making, are you not also one such?
Actually, elsewhere Ramana says that, "The whole world and all life forms in it and all the Gods are like the silver in the sea-shell!" They are all only appearances. Reality is only one and the same, here, there and every where; then, now and forever. When this clarity dawns, doubts vanish.

How to attain God quickly, this which you think in your mind is not real, as God is already attained. Your sight is what is lacking, not in God. As long as you apply your strength, intellect, capabilities till then nothing will happne. On taking complete refuge, just as Draupadi , first applied her strength, intellect when being disrobed, and nothing seemed to be working. then with sentiments of exclusive dependence only on the Lord saying He Naath! O' Lord she called out! IT was not long after that she was saved from being stripped off her clothes. Elephant Gajraj, too experienced the same state and so did Dhanna Sheth, Meera Bai and Narshi Mehta. You do with exclusive sentiments call out to the Lord and see for yourself. You will experience eternal BLISS !

To attain God, one has to do nothing. i.e. Simply "Be".

God does not have to be found. You can only find and get something that was at some point in time lost. Paramatma is ever attained. Swamiji has said 0 "When there is nothing else besides God, then who can Paramatma we unattained?

To day I was listening to Alwars (!2 Vaishavite Saints scripts and their teachings) about their devotion. I encountered about Geetha Sloka starting with "Bakthaya Thu_____" It gives answers to your questions.
This is in response to a question from a Sadhaka, regarding how to attain God.
Lord Krsisna says in Bhagavad Gita,
"Mat karma krn mat paramo,
Mad bhaktah sanga varjitah,
Nirvairah sarva bhuteshu,
Yah sa mam eti pandava. "
(Gitaji 11, 55)
' My dear Arjuna, whoever engages in My pure devotional service, free from fruitive activities, works for Me, makes Me the supreme goal in life, and who is friendly and benevolent towards every one, that person comes to Me. '
What we need is pure devotional service, with total surrender unto the lotus feet of of the Lord. That is the way to attain Him. There is no quick fix. some people attain Him quickly, based on their severity of devotional service and for others it may take longer.
For this Kali yuga, devotional service in the form of chanting is highly recommended.
Let us chant the Holy Names and advance spiritually.

In Vaishava name or Shivite name there is little impact. Vaisnava Bakthas who were Shiva Duveshi was killed by Vishnu. Shiva Bakthas who were Visnu Duveshi was killed by Shiva. Vaishava or Shavite was used by great men, only to do Ekagratha Bakthi. Example told in Veda:- A wife can totally surrender to husband only and be respectful to in-laws, and others.
Your QUESTION was: What should I do for attaining God, so that He can be quickly attained? Bagavan has clearly directed, by his Geetha verse, "Aniniya Chintayayome-
Looks like Mahalakshmi. This means disparity in our looks, leave alone in mind. This disparity DOES not fall under Anniniya Chinta.
Another incident where Rishi Naradhji asks Bagavan Vishnu, is there anyone doing better Bakthi than himself. Bagavan said, there is Bhramin in forest near Nevisharaniyam. Naradh went there. He saw the Bhramin sharpening a sword. Bhramin to use sword was forbidden. This created doubt in Naradthji, so he disguised himself as another Bhramin and asked why was he sharpening the sword. That Bhramin said to Naradhji (in disguise), to kill Naradhji, then Arjuna. This is in Padma Puran any one can read it. The clarification goes by Bagavan, that this Bhramin had abundant love on Krishna, as Naradhji and Arjuna were always disturbing HIM.
Another incident:- Sri Krishna pretended to be having headache and asked mother Sathiya Bama, Naradh, and other to give the dust from their feet to cure HIS headache. All went aside, thinking what a great sin it would be. But the when Udhava was sent to Gopies to get dust from their feet, the Gopies without second thought gave bags of dust trampled by them. Krishna clarifies:- See the Gopies they do anything for ME though they are aware of my powers. This is their Aniniya Chinta on ME even being in family way of life, said Bagavan.
You must be knowing Kannappar who offered his both his eyes to Shiva Linga statue. Kannapar was hunter with NO any morale or knew any strotra or sastra. He used to offer Bagavan Shiva with pig meat, and water filled from his mouth. Shiva embraced him.
Now coming to me. I am only tool in the hands of Sri Krishna WHO is performing certain things for HIS Bakthas to know the best possible Gyana for reaching HIM. I have a large collection of material regarding Bakthas of India, Vedas, Puranas, Scripts by very great men of those days if there is interest in such reading / listening or visiting let me know.
